- What should my marketing budget be?
The Small Business Administration suggests that businesses under $5 million in revenue should spend somewhere between 7% and 8% of revenue on marketing. Each industry is unique and what we find, along with other dental experts, is that somewhere between 2% and 8% is typically an effective level of investment if you are looking to maintain and/or grow your practice. This percentage can go up or down depending on various other internal and external factors. Some examples of such factors are level of competition in your area, legal requirements, political changes, market fluctuation, organizational direction, staffing needs or changes, stage of growth the practice is currently in, and so on.
- How fast can I expect results?
“Results” are, of course, relative to your goals. Firegang clients typically see results of some kind in the first week their marketing campaigns go live. This does not mean we’ve doubled their practice overnight, but new patients are starting to find them through their online ads and website. There are some elements of your online presence and internet marketing that take longer to see an impact, such as SEO, but have longer lasting results. There are ways to expedite results, such as Google & Facebook advertising, while you wait for the other elements to gain traction. A healthy balance of each will typically offer the most desirable results for your practice, so you can see new patient growth quickly but also achieve a consistent and sustainable growth over time.
- What kind of results can I expect?
Again, “results” are relative to your goals. For one practice, 10 more new patients per month might cause them to be overwhelmed, where another practice might view that growth as ‘just a start’. Recently, we audited the new patient growth numbers our clients saw in their first 12 months with us. We found that, on average, our clients experience a 58% increase in new patients within their first 12 months with us. Obviously, it’s easier to go from 10 to 16 new patients per month than it is to go from 100 to 160 new patients per month. This metric is just an average. The point is that our strategies work, and we consistently see a sizeable lift in new patient numbers for our clients.
- What are your prices?

Unfortunately, having a fixed price for dental internet marketing would be like making every Olympic runner wear the same size shoe - there’s no one size fits all. If someone tells you there is, this should be cause for concern. - Do you require contracts?
We will assess your unique situation to decide what will be best for you. We have program options with time commitments and without. We will explain what we feel the benefits of each option to be, and allow you to choose. For our core program, however, we typically operate on a 12 month commitment.
- Are your website designs templated?
No. We custom design every website with our highly talented design team so that we can get the intended results for your practice in your market. That being said, our websites are intentionally built upon a framework that incorporates certain specific elements. The benefit of working with a company like Firegang is that we can bring 10 years of marketing experience to your practice. While something creative and flashy might be enticing, most doctors don’t want what’s creative, they want what works. We’ve identified what works and what doesn’t work, which means we’re not testing anything on your dime. This is one of the most requested items that is asked of us, and we used to simply hand out names and numbers. But those practices started getting an abundance of calls from doctors who wanted to know more about us. As we grew, this became too much of a burden to request of the very busy doctors we help. I am sure you can appreciate - we value their time, and will treat you and your time with respect as well. So, we moved to capturing video testimonials. 95% of practices find this to be sufficient for them. - Who owns the websites you create?
You own the website. You will license your website from us for the first 12 months. After that, it is yours to take and do with as you please! This process of transferring ownership of the website we create for you is not how it is done industry wide - so be sure to ask all the marketing companies you speak with. We design it to promote your practice and turn website visitors into your patients. We created it for you and we want you to use it.
- What does your monthly reporting look like?
Your dedicated client success manager will go through everything that is happening with your marketing and review reports with you each month. We do not simply kick off an automated report and expect you to make heads or tails of it. Your client success manager will explain the results you’ve seen and answering any questions you have. Of course, if you have questions outside of that monthly meeting, we’re always available to help, and have many people who are required to ensure you have all your questions answered.
